The project is an education and awareness project that focuses on the production of educational documents with a special education methodology so that individuals with autism, Down syndrome or intellectual disability can acquire the skills to show the right course of action after disasters and emergencies.
With the project, when individuals with autism, Down syndrome or intellectual disability are left alone in a crisis and chaotic environment after disasters and emergencies, it is aimed to gain them to show the right course of action ability, such as;
• Communicating with trusted people,
• Staying safe,
• Overcoming various disaster and emergency risks.
Visual Glossary Of Disaster And Emergency Terms; It is a dictionary that explains disaster and emergency terms with a visual aid, adapted for individuals with autism, Down syndrome or intellectual disability.
Distance Education Portal; Educational content consisting of videos, animations, social stories and digital books has been prepared, aiming at helping individuals with autism, Down syndrome or intellectual disability learn the right behaviours in disasters and emergencies such as earthquakes, fires, floods, getting lost and traffic accidents. A training platform has been developed to present these contents, which are made with a special education methodology, to target groups.
Digital Library; It has been developed in order to be a resource for parents and caregivers of individuals with autism, Down syndrome or intellectual disability to include information about disasters and emergencies.
